Larry Joos passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021. Born in 1949 in Lancaster, Ohio, he was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and cousin. He served 6 years as a Navy SeaBee and 40+ years as a Union Sheet Metal Worker. He enjoyed public service and volunteer work and served as a volunteer firefighter, first with Prairie Township in Franklin County, and then with Greenfield Township in Fairfield County. He served as Township Trustee in Greenfield Township for 12 years. He was a member of the Carroll Lions Club, the Community Watch program of Fairfield County Sheriff Department, the Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club, and the Buckeye Allis Club.
He is preceded in death by parents John and Laura Joos.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years Janet, his children April (Rob) Beggerow, Gwendolyn (William) Wiese, and David (Jessica) Joos; grandchildren Dusty, Maria, Gracie, Skyler, and Meadow; siblings James, Linda, and Janet and many nieces and nephews. Let’s not forget the many cousins that he tormented on a regular basis. His outgoing personality will be missed by all. A celebration of life will be held for Larry on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 2 to 5pm at the Charles Alley Nature Park, 2805 Old Logan Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
