Lawrence S. Supelak

Lawrence S. Supelak, 76, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 26, 2020. Larry was born on January 29, 1944 in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph John, Jr. and Mary Jean (Chippi) Supelak. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph A. Supelak.

Larry is survived by his loving daughters, Deborah (Jeremy Graham, fiancee) Supelak and Kathleen S. (Kurt) Hall; granddaughter, Jordan Hall; grandson, Connor Hall; brother, Richard J. Supelak; sister-in-law, whom he loved as a sister, Mary Supelak. Beloved uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle.

Larry was a championship-athlete and proud graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, OH and Columbia University in New York City, NY after which he completed a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree and lead a successful career in Aeronautics and Defense Systems design. Though highly analytical, he was also a deeply sensitive man who played multiple musical instruments, practiced many artforms, loved animals, explored diverse cuisines and cultures, and felt very deeply about working to protect our natural surroundings.

He loved being able to share a laugh or spread a smile to others, and took to greeting people with his infectious grin and a booming, “What’s the good news?” to help all of us remember to appreciate the grace, kindness, and good fortune that surrounds us all.

A virtual memorial service for Larry will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 4:00PM. For attendance details please email: LarrSupe@gmail.com. Private inurnment at Columbia Station Township Cemetery, Columbia Station, OH. Arrangements under the care of Cotner Funeral Home.
