Linda Sue Kushmaul of Columbus, Ohio went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 3, 2026. Linda was born in North Hampton, Ohio to George and Marion (Lindenmuth) Divens on July 3, 1941.
Linda graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, Ronald Kushmaul, on October 16, 1959.
Ron and Linda made the decision to move to Chicago for Ron to pursue his career. Linda worked as a secretary while Ron was going to Electrical Engineering school. It was a bold and difficult move, but their partnership and support for one another saw them through successfully. They moved back to Ohio to settle in Columbus where they would start their family. Linda provided a warm and loving household for years as the children grew. During the years she was a dedicated and nurturing homemaker, she was also a beloved childcare provider. Later in life she went to work at Columbus East High School where she was the attendance secretary for many years. After that she continued to serve the community by volunteering at the American Cancer Thrift Shop.
To all whose lives she touched, Linda was a source of love, support, compassion and genuine acceptance. She cherished her family and friends, making it a point to be involved and intimately aware of how everyone was doing. You always knew she wanted to be a part of your life as much as possible. She loved to play cards and board games of all kinds with family and friends and was known to be a fierce Aggravation competitor as well as a formidable Uncle Wiggly player. Linda was a voracious reader and loved her weekly magazines and crime fiction books, constantly on the lookout for the latest release from her favorite authors. She loved to travel, from visiting her family in CA, NY & Trinidad, to taking spontaneous road trips to so many different destinations around Ohio and beyond. Gatlinburg, Hocking Hills and Amish country were very special places to her.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend – Linda deeply cared for everyone, and was a wonderful blessing in so many ways to all whose lives she touched. She truly was an angel on earth to us all. Though she had many setbacks and difficulties the past few years, she would never complain, always remaining positive and strong regardless of her situation or pain.
Linda is proceeded in death by her parents George and Marion Divens. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Ron, her children Kevin, Brian (Deborah) and Rhonda (Joe) Daniels, her cherished grandchildren McKenzie, Aidan, Cooper, Lydia, Eve, Kyle and Meg, as well as her sister-in-law Cindy Peck, close family friend Joan Canter and brother Ron Divens.
