Makala Elizabeth Russell

Makala Elizabeth Russell, age 27, of Meigs County, Ohio, peacefully went home to the Lord on July 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Nationwide Children’s in Columbus Ohio. She was born May 12, 1998. Makala was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend known for her bright smile, infectious laugh, and creative spirit.

Makala found joy in dancing, coloring, and playing with stickers, expressing herself through these passions. Her loving, funny, and creative nature touched many lives. Though her time with us was brief, she lived a happy life filled with grace and courage.

Makala went to Carleton school in Syracuse Ohio, for special needs children. She loved going to school and would always get happy to see the school bus.

She is survived by her mother Debra Russell of Meigs County Ohio, biological mother Tiffany Warren, grandmother Brenda Nye and grandfather Sam Metcalf all of Lancaster Ohio, three brothers Micheal (Lindsay) Russell of Lancaster Ohio, Zachary (Bethany) Russell of Middleport Ohio, Adam Russell of Orwigsburg Pennsylvania, two sisters Hannah Russell of Middleport Ohio, and Nikki Nye of Williamstown WV, She also survived by two aunts Rhonda Craig-McClenny of Point Pleasant WV, Lisa Craig of Austin TX, alongside one uncle Tony(Carolyn) Craig of Rushville Ohio alongside many Nephew and Nieces.

Makala was preceded in death by her Father Ronald Ray Russell, An aunt and uncle Sarah Craig (Jeff) Mcdowell, a brother James Russell, and her grandmother Oma Wills.

Makala will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at Krodel Park in Point Pleasant, WV on August 7th at 2:00pm.
