Martha Jean Townsend

Martha Jean Townsend, aged 93 of Reynoldburg, Ohio, passed away on July 16, 2024. Born in Marietta, Ohio, on September 3, 1930, she was a woman of integrity and unwavering faith. Retiring from Motorist Mutual Insurance after 26 years in 1995, she worked for the Hallmark company where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow employees and friends. In addition to her career, she dedicated her life to her church community at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, where she fostered the Primetimers group, where she spent time and took trips with other believers. In addition, she volunteered at the local soup kitchen and enjoyed spending time in her yard gardening.

Martha's life was marked by her deep love and committed devotion to her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Rosalie Townsend, Paul (Leeann) Townsend, Dwayne Townsend, and Raymond (Linda) Townsend. Her memory lives on through her six grandchildren, Gary (Krystal) Townsend, Samantha Townsend, Megan Townsend, Christopher (Tamera) Flores, Brian Townsend, and Savannah Scarborough. Her legacy will endure through the little ones she cherished with all her heart, her great grandchildren, Rhealynn, Kayley, Gavin, Lacey, Bradley, Lexi, Emery, and Brody. Lastly, she is survived by her two brothers, John Haas and Roger (Connie) Hass. Preceding her in death were her parents, Elmer and Ruth (née
Thomas) Haas.
 

A service to honor and commemorate Martha’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at 11:00am at the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 887 Rosehill Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH with Pastor Greg Savage officiating. Her family will receive friends prior to her service from 10:00 to 11:00am. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
