Mary Jane Border (Smyers)

Mary Jane Border (Smyers), age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Inn at Summit Trail. She was born January 1, 1932 in Everett, Pennsylvania. Daughter of Margaret Shauf. She married Eugene Border on March 6, 1950 in Tatesville, PA.

Jane was a devoted wife of 53 years, and dedicated Mother to 3 boys.  She lived live to the fullest through simple pleasures.  She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, exercising and had a talent caring for and growing plants. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents Margaret (Peg) & Walter Shauf; Brothers Dale Smyers and Chip Shauf.  She is survived by Sisters Donna Hollar and Linda Bordner; Sons, Rick (Bonnie), Barry, Tim (Vickie) Border; Grandchildren Kristine (Steve) Brown, Stacey Slike, Keith (Noelle) Border, Danielle Jones, Tiffany Border, Andy Border, Krystal DeCann, Kyle (Valerie) DeCann; Great Grandchildren Egan, Owen, Addison and Olivia Jones, Preston Philabaum, Declan Brown, Adriana and Austin Border, Kylie DeCann, Kinsleight Dixon; Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio from 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 12, 2024 to reminisce, grieve and support each other. Her funeral service will begin at 11:30 A.M. 

Graveside service immediately following at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
