Mary Irene O’Neal, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024. Mary was born on February 1, 1929 in McKees Rock, PA to the late John and Christine (Howard) Milburn. Her family moved to Chattanooga TN where she grew up with her four siblings, Bill, Chris, John and Michael. Mary went to the University of Chattanooga where she met and fell in love with her husband Jack. She spent 20 years as an Air Force wife moving her growing family eight times, settling in Central Ohio when Jack retired from the Air Force. Mary worked in the St. Charles cafeteria for 20 years where she made many great friends. Mary was kept extremely busy following all the many sports (baseball, basketball, football, softball, volleyball, soccer and track) and the arts (dancing and acting) her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in over the years.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack O’Neal, her son Stephen O’Neal and great granddaughter Angel Stinson. She is survived by her children, Chris (Jim) Laugherty, Jack O’Neal, Jr., Sunny (Bill) Majoy, Laura O’Neal, Paula O’Neal, Anna (Mike) Lush, Joe O’Neal and Patty (Brady) Ray; grandchildren, Traci Stinson (James), Tyler O’Neal, Allison Lush, Felisha Serecky, Ashley O’Neal, Melissa O’Neal, Michael O’Neal and great grandchildren, Jordan Stinson, Faith Stinson, Jamisyn Stinson, Bri Le, Maddy Le, Avery Le, Brayden O’Neal, Kylie O’Neal, Elaina Madison and Hudson Landis.
Mary’s family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 4 to 6:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 11539 National Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062.
