Mary K. Keller "Grandma Saturday" went home to Jesus at 5:55 pm on January 15, 2025 in her 100th year of life. She started her journey just as she wanted: peacefully, at home, in her bed, surrounded by loved ones. In heaven, she joined her parents, Charles and Gladys (Staten) Popp; children, Gary (Marty) Keller and Karen Comfort; grandson Josh Grieve; as well as all eight of her brothers and sisters.
A devoted mother, GREAT grandmother, and Aunt Kay, she leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in grandchildren, Jason Drozdik, Kimberlie (Rick) Bruggeman, Jodi Hittle, and Jenny Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Salina (Joel) Cameron, Cassi Clemens, Trey Bruggeman, and Isa Flores; niece and nephews, David (Linda) Grieve, Brenda (Don) Brown, and Michael (Teresa) Liming; bonus grandson, Mark Clemens; many other nieces, nephews, and bonus grands; and a multitude of wonderful friends who were very special to her.
Grandma Saturday was a GREAT grandmother and had a gift of making all of us feel like we were her favorite! She was such a wonderful storyteller, which is how we know that she was a real-life Rosie the Riveter building bombs and hand grenades during WWII.
She proudly kept some of the grandest houses in Columbus clean and organized, including for some prominent families in the area. Her grandkids loved to make her laugh by reminding her that she was literally older than sliced bread, and penicillin.
Mary’s life was defined by her deep faith, her generous spirit, and her unwavering love for her family, and her presence will be deeply missed. Please share your stories with all of us on the tribute wall below.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from Noon to 1:00pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH. A service to honor her life will be held at Cotner Funeral Home at 1:00pm with Pastor Donnie Young officiating. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations in Grandma Saturday's memory may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
