Melinda "Mindy" Anne Deweese

Mindy was born June 28,1971 in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Reynoldsburg Schools and
graduated in 1989. In 1997 with two little girls, she furthered her education at Mt Carmel School
of Nursing earning a BS in Nursing. She had said as a little girl, when I grow up, I want to be a
nurse. Mindy was a bedside nurse and cared for her patients with care and compassion. She
worked at Mt Carmel East Hospital and Otterbein Senior Living.  Mindy loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and looked forward to every game wearing her scarlet and gray.

Mindy is preceded in death by her grandparents Owen, Dora Lee, and Evelyn Scheetz, Henry and Violet Huntwork, Uncles Bob Ellis and Bill Rouse, and cousin Kimberly Ellis Piper. 

She loved her family, her daughters, Jenneh and Kyla and her beloved granddaughters Brinley and Ava. She had many
friends and never met a stranger, greeting everyone with a big smile and open heart. She loved
Jesus and lived her life trusting her life verse, Philippians 4 13: “I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me”. Mindy is survived by her parents, Roger and Linda Scheetz; her
brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Scheetz; Her daughters Jenneh Kelly (Kerry) and Kyla DeWeese
(Nellie); her granddaughters Brinley and Ava Kelly; her nephews Thomas and Max Scheetz; Her
aunt and uncle David and Carol Scheetz; aunts Ann Rouse and Sheryl Marshall. She had many
close cousins and a large extended family. If you or a loved one has been affected by diabetes,
please take this deadly disease seriously. A Celebration of Life will be September 23, family
visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am at Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley
Road, Pickerington, Ohio. If you wish donations can be made to Peace United Methodist
Church or an animal rescue organization.
