Melissa Jane Clark

Melissa Jane Clark, age 47, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on September 15, 2023 as a result of a seizure. 

Melissa was born on January 9, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio to Marcus & Christine Clark, who provided unparalleled love and care for her for the entirety of her life. Melissa attended Reynoldsburg High School and graduated in 1995.

Melissa was defined by her child-like faith, and drew great strength from her love for the Lord. She loved to pray for her family and friends. She was baptized at Reynoldsburg Church of Christ.

Melissa had a passion for music, and enjoyed singing in the choir. She had a life-long fondness for animals and in recent years was an avid viewer of "The Golden Girls" and "Reba."  Those who know Melissa know that she never met a stranger, and that her love for people was truly unconditional. Completely devoted to her family, Melissa thrived on the time they spent together. Little things gave her great joy, and despite her health struggles, she remained strong and was incredibly resilient. She greeted each new day with a smile and a renewed sense of gratitude for the people in her life, most notably her family and how well they loved her. 

Melissa is preceded in death by her Grandparents Harold & Neva Clark, Eileen Clark, and Pearl & William Semple, her  Aunt & Uncle Larry & Margaret Bailey, and cousin Ryan Morris.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Marcus & Christine Clark, all five siblings and their spouses, and her 12 beloved nieces and nephews. They include brother Aaron Clark (Joelle) and children Jordan, and Kayla; brother David Clark and children Warren, and Gavin; sister Tammy Bendickson (Troy) and children Kaitlyn, Lily, Charity, Tori, Oliver, and Archer; brother Travis Clark (Michelle) and children William, and Christian (her godson), and brother Andy Clark. Melissa is also survived by five aunts and uncles. They include Bobbi Nagy, Don and Brenda Morris, and Hal and Kathy Clark. She also leaves behind many wonderful cousins. 

Services will be held at Cotner Funeral Home on September 22, 2023. The viewing is from 3:00pm- 4:00pm with services immediately following.  The burial is in Summerfield, Ohio at Bates Hill Church Cemetery on September 23 at 1:00pm.
