In Loving Memory of Oleta Mae (Sargent) Toole June 30, 1940 – May 13, 2025. With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Oleta Mae (Sargent) Toole, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was 84 years old.
Born on June 30, 1940, in Switzer, West Virginia, Oleta was the youngest of twelve children born to Ada and Dave Sargent. She was raised in Logan, WV, before making Columbus, Ohio her home in the mid-1960s. Oleta retired from CNA Insurance after 35 dedicated years of service. A woman of quiet strength and enduring faith, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures—gardening, bowling with friends, THE Ohio State Buckeyes and most of all, spending cherished time with her family. Her love for her grandchildren, especially her dear grandson Adam Appleton, was a light in her life. She deeply treasured her church family and the lifelong friendships she nurtured along the way.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved husband, James Toole; her sons, Brian Davis and Terry Davis; her mother, Ada; and her siblings—Paul, Mary, Irene, Dessie, Lela, Robert, Stanley, John, William, Ray, and James. Left to carry her memory in their hearts are her daughter, Robin Bowers; her son, Michael Warnack; her grandchildren Adam (Natasha) Appleton, Karter Klosterman, and Lindly Brock; along with many dear relatives, treasured friends, and those who loved her deeply.
A memorial service to celebrate Oleta’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Vineyard Community Church, 15187 Palmer Rd SW, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068, with Pastor Chip Richardson officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Oleta’s honor to Vineyard Community Church, where she found spiritual community and joy. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
