Oscar Hager, Jr., lovingly known as “Buster”, age 91, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Oscar was a hardworking and devoted family man who spent 21 years with Galbreath Corporation before going on to build his own business, Hager Construction, a reflection of his strong work ethic and determination. He took great pride in providing for his family and leaving behind a legacy of honesty and dedication.
A man of strong Christian faith, Oscar lived his life devoted to God, guided by faith, humility, and love for others. His beliefs shaped the way he lived, worked, and cared for his family, and his faith remained a steady foundation throughout his life.
He shared an extraordinary 72 years of marriage with the love of his life, Wanda Hager, a partnership built on commitment, loyalty, and love. Family was the center of Oscar’s world, and he cherished every generation that followed.
Oscar was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Connie (Hager) Dodrill, brother Don and his wife Joanne Hager, and sister June Shupe.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Hager; his sons, Ronald Hager and Steve Hager; brother-in-law Isaac Shupe; his granddaughters Tiffany Schorr (Jon) and Melinda Hager; seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Walker, Tyler Hager, McKayla Crosby, Madison Crosby, Hannah Schorr, Connor Schorr, and Luke Ketner; and six great-great-grandchildren, Carter, Scarlett, Jailyn, Brody, Kinzley, and Layla.
Oscar will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through the many generations who were blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
His family will receive friends Thursday, February 5, from 10-11 a.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg where his service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with his brother-in-law and friend, Pastor Isaac Shupe, officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Vinton Memorial Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio
