Patricia "Pat" Johnson

Patricia “Pat” Johnson, age 71, of Reynoldsburg died Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Pat bravely battled multiple myeloma for five years. She is survived by husband, Dave Johnson; son, Tom (Helga) Johnson; sister, Jane Kerns; brother, Mike (Melanie) Kerns; nephew Eric (Shae) Kerns; niece, Rachel Kerns; and grandniece, Emma Kerns. Born April 3, 1949 to Charles (Fred) and Ellen Kerns in West Mansfield, Pat graduated from Buckeye Local High School in Rushsylvania in 1967 and Ohio State University in 1971, earning a dual degree in French and Spanish. In 1980, she and Dave married in Columbus. After teaching in the public school system, Pat taught for many years in the preschool program at Church of the Redeemer United Methodist. As an active member, she directed the children’s choir and performed in the handbell choir. Pat loved people, animals and nature. She lived in service to others as a devoted wife and mother, a caregiver for her mother, an active volunteer teacher in a multi-church ESL program, a helper to families in need, and a cat rescuer. A service at Church of the Redeemer will be held later in 2021. Memorials may be made to your favorite cause.
