It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Patricia (Patti) Bookman, who left us on October 28, 2024 at the age of 71 with her husband by her side. Patti was beloved by family and friends for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and warm heart.
Patti was born on October 26, 1953, in Steubenville, Ohio to Helen P. (Fabian) and Joseph Adametz. She was a 1971 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School and subsequently began working in the insurance industry, where she spent the next 47 years building a successful career and retiring in 2018.
Patti dedicated her life to caring for those around her. She had an innate ability to listen and offer comfort, making everyone feel loved. Patti enjoyed working in her flower gardens, planting her annual vegetable garden and watching her hummingbirds flutter on the feeders. Patti looked forward to cheering on the Buckeyes & Steelers each fall. In addition to being an avid fan, Patti enjoyed the camaraderie of football pools, where her enthusiasm and competitive spirit shined through. During the holidays, she loved filling her home with family and friends, sharing laughter, delicious meals, and a welcoming spirit. Whether it was through her warm hugs, thoughtful gestures, or acts of kindness, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished. Patti was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support for her family and friends. Family was everything to Patti. Patti adored her nieces and nephews and valued every moment she spent with them. As an aunt, she was a confidante, a friend, and a source of endless love. Her compassion and empathy were evident in everything she did, from volunteering in her community to being there for her friends and family.
