Phil Van Winkle, age 74, of Granville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 26, 2022. He graduated from Watkins Memorial High School, earned an Associates Degree from Columbus Technical Institute, served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army, was semi retired as a Consulting Engineer from EDG Inc., he enjoyed photography and flying remote control planes, loved football and especially the Cincinnati Bengals. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilmer “Rip” and Marjorie Van Winkle, brothers Ronald and William, sister Nancy Perry, and granddaughter Skylar Rose Teeters. Phil is survived by his wife of 47 years, Becky; children Jennifer (Matthew) Hunkins, Nicolas Van Winkle, Scott (Lindsay) Van Winkle, and Elizabeth (Joshua) Teeters; grandchildren June, Freya, Archer, and Kayce; step grandchildren Rhapsody and Cole; and sister Carol (John) Hall. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg. A private family graveside service will be held for Phil. OCTOBER IS PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS AWARENESS MONTH and in lieu of flowers for Phil, the Van Winkle family would like to spread a little of Skylar Magic.
