Ralph Sill Anderson Jr “Andy, Butch, Popcorn," passed peacefully surrounded by his family on June 24, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents Ralph Anderson Sr. and Julia Hieatt, step-father Alan Hieatt, and brother Mark Hieatt. Devoted husband to Leslie Anderson (Pyle) and proud father to Stephanie (Bill) Gillette and Shannon (Ken) Carley. Loving grandfather to Caitlin (Ryan) Woods, Gabi DiCioccio, Cameron and Clea Carley, and great grandfather to Rylee and Lucas DiCioccio and Rosalee Woods. Also survived by his sisters Sylvia Seitz, Anita Gilliam, and Randi (Dan) Bailey; aunts, an uncle, and many nieces and nephews. Andy was born February 3, 1941 in Millersburg, Ohio. He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School in 1958. Andy attended The Ohio State University and so began his lifelong love for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He married Leslie Pyle on November 16, 1963. They began their lives together in Spokane, Washington, before moving to Ohio and building a home in Columbus. He went to work for Ohio Bell and retired from AT&T after a thirty year career. After his retirement, Andy stayed busy working at the family business and worked part time delivering car parts. Andy was a jack of all trades and lived up to the nickname "Handy Andy". He enjoyed hosting family and friends at his backyard pool and could usually be found at the grill. He was an avid bowler and board gamer. In the final years of his life, Andy rekindled his faith and found great peace at the United Church of God. His family and friends will remember him as a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. A memorial service will be held at United Church of God, located at 251 Hillview Dr. SW, Reynoldsburg, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11am. Luncheon to follow.
