Ray Amore, Jr.

Ray Amore, Jr., age 77, of Hebron, is home with the Lord.  He was born January 16, 1945 and went home Friday, January 13, 2023.  Ray was a retired UPS driver with over 30 years of service and multiple safe driving awards, the former mayor of Hebron, Ohio, a longtime member of the Hebron Church of the Nazarene serving in many ministries every way possible.  He loved his family, stopping at any time to be with them, lend a hand or transport the grandkids.  He spent countless hours traveling to watch them play the sports they loved.  This began by doing the same with his kids and coaching them through the years. In 1980 he coached Schell Bros. varsity baseball team to victory in the Licking Co Shrine, the first for Lakewood Little League.  He loved table tennis and golf.  Ray was also an amateur magician.  He loved to make people laugh and enjoyed sharing his magic skills whether the trick was successful or not, the success was in the joy he had in creating happiness.  He is preceded in death by his parents Violet and Ray Amore, Sr., and cousin Edwin (Irma) Amore.  Ray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda; son Kevin (Gretchen) Amore; daughter Faith (Steve) Amore-Reed; grandchildren Nick, Sydney, Carsie, Cassie, Canyon, Caddison, and Campbell; brothers Rodney (Cindy) Amore and Roger (Patty) Amore; sister Vicky (Mike) Justice; cousins Dale (Alice) Amore, Glenn Amore, and Gary (Pat) Amore; he also had many close friends far too many to mention.  His family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Hebron Church of the Nazarene, 115 W. Cumberland Street, Hebron, Ohio where his service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
