Ray J Light, 95, was given his Angel Wings May. 2, 2021. His final days were spent full of love from family and friends that Ray had touched in some small way throughout his life. He died at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.
Ray’s family will receive friends 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm Wednesday May 5, 2021 at Cotner Funeral Home. 7369 E. Main St Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 where his funeral will follow at 6:30.
Ray was born September 08, 1925, in Beecher City, Illinois, to Harley and Alma Light.
Ray could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He was a very accomplished man and respected by many. Mr. Light served in the United States Air Force, during World War II as a Pilot, Cadet, and Fighter. Mr. Light also served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 44th Military Police. In 1961, Mr. Light came to Ohio with his wife, Thelma and bought their home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Ray worked many years for DSCC as a well-respected Supervisor and retired from the Depot in 1986. Ray was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame for his well achieved accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Thelma; and daughters, Sharon A. Haughn and Debbie A. Temesvary (Andras Temesvary); 7 Grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren; sister Rosella Jamison and brother Larry Light.
His little dog Lucky will sure miss her treats he used to give her.
Ray was preceded in death by sister, Ronella Grisham and brother, Roy D. Light.
