Richard H. Michelhaugh, 90, passed away on June 29, 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a long time resident in Columbus, Ohio. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was a grandfather to 5 grandsons, and great-grandfather to 8.
He loved traveling and traveled much of the United States and some travel in Canada. He was a private pilot and belonged to an EAA group that built experimental airplanes. Another passion was his Graham Paige antique car and attending meets across the country. It was a true gift to everyone that he made it to his 90th birthday and got to enjoy the icing on the cake. Sweets had become enjoyable to him in his later years and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and ice cream were at the top of his grocery list.
He is preceded in death by loving wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Imes) Michelhaugh; parents Thomas and Kathryn (Heckler) Michelhaugh and siblings Thomas Michelhaugh and Sarah Horch.
He is survived by a daughter, Christina (Scott) Herriott; a son, Richard D. (Cynthia) Michelhaugh; and grandsons David, Jonathan, Timothy, Andrew and Matthew; 8 great-grandchildren: Mia, Benji, Wolfgang, Sophia, Theo, Brighton, Nina, and Callum. He is also survived by a cousin Robert Freas of Pennsylvania. He is survived by an extended family of nieces and nephews and their families.
