Richard "Dick" Arlen Williams

Richard “Dick” Arlen Williams, a son of Fred and Mary L. Williams was born in Chesterhill, Ohio on December 13, 1933 and passed away on May 28, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond and Gary.

Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kathryn (nee Maurer) of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving is his son, Jeffrey T. (Jennifer) Williams and their daughter, June E. Williams, all of Greensboro, NC.

While in high school in Morgan County, Dick excelled in basketball and baseball. After graduation Dick was drafted into the Army. Due to his mechanical ability he was attached to the Air Force. He was sent to Beale Air Force Base in California. The base was under construction and would become the home of the “Blackbird”, a supersonic spy plane of the day. After serving his country, Dick attended Ohio University. His career was with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Testing Laboratory. He retired from there in 1987.

A graveside service will be held for Dick on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 2:00pm at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 with Pastor Calvin Green officiating. Arrangements under the care of Cotner Funeral Home.
