Ricky W. Young

Ricky W. Young, of Whitehall, Ohio passed away on September 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 19, 1949 and was the son of the late Donald and Jessie Mae Young.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Gary (Becky) Young and Rodney Young.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Diane Young and two children; son, Ricky, Jr. (Bethany) Young of Ironton, Ohio and daughter, Christy (Mike) Hoffman of Long Bottom, Ohio; 10 beloved grandchildren and 3 beloved great-grandchildren; brother, Neal (Jackie) Young of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; sister-in-law, Deb (Mike) Walters of Duvall, Washington; sister-in-law, Marsha Paul of Newton, Illinois; brother-in-law, Bill Christian of Chillicothe, Ohio; several beloved nieces and nephews; and life long friends, Ralph and Norma Sprouse of Whitehall, Ohio, Brian Morris of Whitehall, Ohio and Cindy Howard Johnson Ramos of Blacklick, Ohio.

Ricky was a graduate of Reynoldsburg High School and worked as a Welder all of his life. He was known as an A-1 Welder in Columbus and the surrounding area. He retired from Superior Welding.

Ricky’s hobbies included riding his motorcycle, boating, fishing, hunting and spending time with his children and family.

Ricky’s family will receive friends on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 11:00am to 12 Noon at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where his funeral service will be held at 12 Noon with Pastor Greg Savage officiating.
