Robert "Chuck" Moone

Robert “Chuck” Moone, born in Columbus, OH on September 27, 1935 passed away surrounded by family on January 18, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean and three children, son Craig and his wife Bev Moone of Silver Springs, FL son Jeffrey Moone of Williamsburg, VA and daughter Susan and her husband Bill Cross of Clarksville, TN. Four grandchildren, Kelly Moone, Sara (Anthony) Zarlino, Katie Moone and William “BJ” Cross, Jr (Meg). Five great grandchildren, Anthony “AJ” Zarlino Jr. and Zane Zarlino, Fynn, Sonny and Esther Cross. 

He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather as well as a man of great faith. Robert retired from the Kroger Company as a truck driver after 40 plus years of service. He had served as Sunday School Superintendent at Columbus First Baptist Church where he was also the bus driver for all the youth activities, to include youth rally’s and youth choir concerts. His humor was as keen as his driving skills. 

He had a passion for travel, and together with his wife, they traveled throughout the United States. 

Robert completed his final trip, his journey home, one he has been ready to take. We know we’ll see him again, and until then, as dad would say, “I’ll see you in the funnies”.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, from 12:30pm-1:30pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, with his funeral service at 1:30pm. Graveside to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
