Ronald Tait Obituary

Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Ronald L. "Pappy" Tait age 79 left us peacefully on May 20,2021 surrounded by his loving children and the wonderful staff at OSU James Cancer Hospital. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on January 6,1942 to the late George and Helen Tait.

Chief Master Sergeant Tait served in the United States Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard from October 7, 1959 until retirement on December 31, 1997. He served his time at Lockbourne/Rickenbacker Air Force Base in the 121st Tactical Fighter Wing, which later became the 121st Air Refueling Wing. His love for his country was only matched by his love for his family. He devoted his life to not only protecting this country but also his family and friends.

Ronald is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Neva Tait; his parents George and Helen Tait; brothers Dean and Darryl Tait.

Ronald is survived by his sons Mike (Ann) Tait, Greg (Joy) Tait; and daughter Robin (Marc) Maxwell; grandsons Adam Tait, Dylan Strope, Evan Tait and Sage Maxwell; grand-daughter Kayla Strope (Anthony McBride); great grand-daughters Finlee Strope and Aubriella McBride; sister Helen Shroyer; sisters-in law Linda (Terry) Trojack and Barb (Bob) Hill; his fishing buddy and special nephew Brian Trojack; many nieces, nephews and his T-Ball, Baseball and Football family.

Ronald's family will receive friends Tuesday from 11am-1pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his service will be held at 1pm. Graveside service with military honors will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery.
