Rosa E. Pabon

Rosa Elsa Pabón, 91, entered eternal rest on May 20, 2026, at West Park Health & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, OH. Rosa was the loving wife of Manuel Pabón, Sr. who predeceased her on June 18, 2018. She was born on October 1, 1934, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Francisco Pantoja and Juana Pantoja (née Medina).

Rosa and Manuel settled in New York City in the 1950s and lived there until 2016 when they relocated to Columbus, OH. Before her retirement, Rosa was a talented dressmaker for fashion designers in NYC. Rosa enjoyed the outdoors, going to festivals, museums and parks when she lived in NYC. She especially loved traveling to Connecticut to visit her son, Manny and his family where she was affectionately known as Mema to her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, a title she wore proudly. She will be remembered as an elegant and kindhearted woman deeply devoted to her family.

Rosa leaves to honor and cherish her memory, her sons: Manuel Pabón, Jr. and his wife, Iris, of Waterbury, CT and Edwin Pabón and his wife, Tania, of Cuenca, Ecuador. She also leaves her grandchildren; Edwin Alejandro Pabón of NYC, Daniel Pabón and Elizabeth Pabón; and great-granddaughter, Destiny Greene all of Waterbury, CT and extended family and friends.

Rosa’s family would like to thank Chaplain Chris Lamb, James, Lecresha and Ashley from National Church Residences for the care and compassion given to our mother during this difficult time. Special thanks to St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, with gratitude to Deacon Robert Lancia and Fr. Alberto Basabe.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH. A prayer service will be held at 11:00AM before processing to Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH, for burial services.
