Ruby Loraine Holland, 92, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at Arlington Care Center in Newark, Ohio. Ruby was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother. She lived a full and meaningful life centered around her family, who were always the heart of everything she did.
She found joy in the simple pleasures—spending hours reading, working on word searches, quilting, and tending to her garden. Ruby loved watching Gone with the Wind, and some of her happiest memories were made along the New River in West Virginia, surrounded by the people she loved most. She occasionally enjoyed a bourbon and seven or a cold beer, often in good company and filled with laughter.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Earlie and Dempsey; her siblings, Evert, Helen, Turley, Juanita, and Johnny; her beloved husband, Ben; and her daughter, Erla.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Mike) Schuler and Julie (Paul) Moe; her grandchildren, Blake Moe, Amy Moe, Sarah Schuler, and Paul Jordan Moe; and her great-grandchildren, Brayden Moe, Kaitlyn Moe, and Harrison Moe, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and warmth.
Ruby will be remembered for her kind heart, her resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured always.
Ruby’s family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 10:00am to 12 Noon at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, Ohio where her funeral service will be held at 12 Noon with Chaplain Dave Mason officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
