Sally Lombardo, 92, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on September 18, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Sally will be cherished forever by her children and grandchildren for her unconditional loving nature and sweetest heart.
Sarah “Sally” Cora Holloway was born in Steubenville, Ohio on July 11, 1931. She held memories of her childhood with her mother Sara, her brothers, and lifelong friends very dear. She married the great love of her life, Vince, on November 8, 1958. Sally and Vince started their family in Reynoldsburg, and their house became home to everyone who entered. Sally lived in their home for sixty-five years, and her love was what made it so special. “There’s no place like home.” Their home meant most to her six children, “the six V’s”, who were Sally’s greatest joy and her whole heart. Her pride was being their mother, and her happiness came from every memory they shared together. They would all say that she was the very best of us.
Sally, an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church since 1958, had a special place in her heart for Mary, Our Mother and praying the rosary. She loved watching sports, especially her son’s Watterson Basketball team along with Notre Dame Football. She loved cheering for the Eagles and the Irish. Her favorite part of each day was having her coffee (only with cream; no sugar because as she would say, “I’m sweet enough”). She was sweet enough from the candies and chocolate she ate daily! She absolutely loved movies and going to the theater, but she was just as happy watching Turner Classic Movies at home. Her favorite was The Wizard of Oz, and there is comfort knowing she is somewhere over the rainbow.
Preceded in death by her husband, Vince Lombardo; her sons, Vaughn Lombardo and Victor Lombardo; her mother, Sara Holloway and her brothers, James Holloway and Pat Holloway. Sally is survived by her children Vincent (Cynthia), Victoria Stover, Valerie Conway (John), Margaret, Van (Maria); sister-in-law Francesca Alves; her 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom Sally’s memory will live on through forever.
