Savas Rivas, Jr, 56, unexpectedly passed away from a stroke at ProMedica on May 28, 2025. He was born on September 3, 1968 in Bluffton, Ohio to Savas Rivas, Sr and Francis Flores.
Savas loved fishing, bowling, and cooking. He was a cross country runner in Ottawa for a long time. He loved spending time at the Care-It. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his father Savas Rivas, Sr.; brother Joe Rivas; grandparents Savas Rivas I and Georgia Rivas, Santos Saldana and Charlie Saldana; Carlos Saldana and Daniel Torres; nephew Alonso Magallanes.
Survived by loving mother Francis Flores; children Joey Bourne and Antonio Rivas; siblings Melinda (Alex) Palomo, Connie Rivas, and Joy (Tremayne) Sullivan; half sister Lina (Mark) Nicholes; brother and best friend Michael Amador; Nieces and Nephews Anthony (Emily) Rivas, Le’on Palomo, Santana (Matt) Shirk, Callie (Caleb) Klinebriel, Isaiah Flores, Manny Carrillo, Roman Carrillo, Aric Sullivan, Adriana Magallanes, andJoesph, Zachery, and Isaiah Nicholes; many great nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Savas was a very kind and loving man, who was always doing things for others. He always lit up the room and was the life of the party. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10th, from 11am-1pm at Church of the Living God, 701 North Main Street, Findlay, Ohio, with his funeral service to begin at 1pm. Graveside service to follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa, Ohio.
