She taught elementary school children for 30 years in the Anchorage, Alaska School District. She and Larry moved to Ohio in 2002.
Sherry was a life long Christian. She served the Church of the Nazarene in Anchorage and Eagle River, Alaska, and in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She taught children in Sunday School, led an adult parenting concepts class, became a Sunday School leader, served on the Missions Council, worked on the Church Board, and co-led a home bible study group for over two decades with her husband. Her desire was to be of service to the Lord but she accomplished all of this with a sense of humility.
Besides studying her Bible, she enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. One of her greatest delights was to have a grandchild on her lap while reading a book to the child.
A celebration of her extraordinary life will be held at the Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene 1340 Crest Rd Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 on Friday, June 10. Visitors will be received from 3-4 pm. A service of remembrance will begin at 4pm. A meal and conversation time will be held after the service.
