Shirley R. Close

Shirley "Ruth" Close, age 87, life-long resident in Ohio and spent years in Georgia, passed away Peacefully on October 6, 2025, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. 

Shirley was born on December 8,1937 and adopted by Frances Yearzy and William Close in Toledo, Ohio. Shirley lived a great life surrounded by Family and Friends. Enjoyed looking at pictures, Sharing memories, and watching Texas Ranger and Criminal Minds. 

Shirley is survived by her 3 Daughters: Barbara Ingland (Brent), Detria Oswalt, and Carprina Peterson (Marshall). 10 Grandchildren: Jeremy, Heather, Dominique Oswalt, Shaqueila Harris (Jamar), DayJuan Oswalt Sr. (Reva), Erica Rogers, Diamond Tanner, India Rogers, Destaney Cunningham (Phillip) and Joseph Ingland. 30 plus Great-Grandchildren and all her Bonus Family along the way.

Shirley touched so many people and she will be missed truly and Forever in everyone's HEART!

A Memorial Service for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 4:00pm with Pastor Chazz Anderson officiating at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
