Theodore Ellsworth Lee passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1 at the age of 76 in Pickerington, OH. Born February 8, 1948 in Zanesville, OH, Theodore, known as Ted, is survived by his second wife, Nancy K. Lee (née Thome) of 47 years and their son Richard Lee (Allison Frew), as well as his three sons via his first marriage: James (Cheryl) Lee, John Lee, and Jody (Amy) Lee. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Joey (Kate), Charlie, Duane, and Olivia. He is also survived by his siblings Paula Faulkner and Robert Lee and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ted was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force who was stationed in Japan and always held a fascination with traveling and military history. He was an avid cruiser who visited many countries around the Caribbean and Alaska.
Ted was an optician by trade for over 50 years who enjoyed making people laugh and watching sports. Ted made friends wherever he went and had many hobbies. Ted loved golfing, bowling, listening to classic rock, professional wrestling and was a great fan of all of Ohio’s sport teams.
Ted was known for his great sense of humor and his sweet, caring disposition, and is greatly missed by family and friends alike. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Honor Flight Columbus, which provided Ted with one of his most memorable travel experience to visit the military monuments and memorials in Washington D.C.
Services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Pickerington on Thursday, November 7 at 11am and will be buried with his father, Theodore E. Lee, at Mount Cavalry Cemetery in Zanesville.
