Thomas Edward Hampton, Sr., born in Martin, KY to the late Thomas and Bess (Bradley)Hampton.
Preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Martin, Steve, Jess, and sister, Magaline Spain.
Survived by children; son, Thomas, Jr. and daughter, Rebecca Jane (Gideon Hipps); sister, Shelby Spradlin and brother, Clyde.
Korean War Veteran 1952-1954.
Thomas met his late wife, Henrietta, working at Red Head gas station. He fell in love with the girl sitting in the back seat while filling her daddy’s gas tank. She was only 13 years old then, but he waited till her father approved to date her years later, thus began a faithful loving relationship, and 61 year marriage.
He retired from Omar Bakery after many years, also working for Nickle’s Bakery. He also enjoyed working after retirement for Reynoldsburg City Schools in the Maintenance Department making many lifelong friends.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting, survivalist shows and of course his big dogs, the most recent addition is Thorissa, his Bernese Mountain Dog.
He was devoted to his family and friends and adored spending time with them, even if it was just a breakfast at The Nutcracker.
Thomas was also proud to be an active member of the Masonic Lodge, having attained both the 32nd degree of the Valley of Columbus Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Northern Jurisdiction, and a member of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, as well as a member of the Shriners.
Thomas was a devoted worshiper with his family and church family at Victory Baptist Church in Lithopolis, and enjoyed countless Bible studies at Summit Baptist church in Pataskala.
He will be missed as the anchor he was to so very many, but we know he is in Heaven and we will see him again!
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5 to 8:00PM at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH where his funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:30AM with Pastor Joel Simpson officiating. Interment Silent Home Cemetery.
