Thomas Roderick “Rod” Reynolds was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, Pastor, and friend. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his resilience and strong heart. He was a fighter until the end. On June 27, 2022, at the age of 70, Rod went to be with Jesus in paradise where his body is now healthy and whole for all eternity. He is now spending the rest of his days in glory with his son Titus, his twin brother Jeff, his older brothers John and Mark, his younger brother James, his sister Pat, and his mother and father.
Rod was born on September 8, 1951, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He gave his life to Jesus at the age of 23 and went on to run a Christian coffee shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he met his future wife, Elizabeth DiYanni. Together, they happily parented four children: Titus, Rachel, John, and Mark. Over time they moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they were able to raise their children and grow closer to the DiYanni family. During his life he was fortunate enough to see his children marry and have children of their own. He welcomed Dominique, Sam, Sean, Hannah, Jake, Elias, Ezra and Charlotte into the family before his passing.
Rod loved to spend time outdoors bicycling through mountains, deserts, Italy, and Ohio. He learned how to windsurf and sail a catamaran on his own and would often bring his dog, Layla, along for the ride. He enjoyed riding his Triumph motorcycle, and would ride to Rolling Thunder in Washington, D.C. each year for Memorial Day weekend.
He taught his family and friends the importance of reading the Word and loving Jesus with all your heart. He demonstrated a generous heart by regularly giving to those in need. Although he is no longer with us on earth, the legacy he built will remain forever and will continue through his family.
His family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg. A private family graveside service with military honors will be held later.
