Thomas “Tom” Arthur Rose, age 70, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dennis Lloyd Rose and Ruth Ann Rose; grandparents Charles W. and Margaret B. (Eich) Rose; his beloved Grandpa Shirley Miler and Grandma Madge (Ryland) Miler; Aunts Eloise and Coleen; his much loved Aunt Shirlene (Miler) Burkhardt, Uncle Bruce Miler and his wife, Cheryl Ann (Schrader) Rose, who preceded him in death in 2007.
Tom was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on July 6, 1950. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School, class of 1968. He completed a four year Carpenter Apprenticeship Program following high school and began his lifelong career and passion in commercial construction. He was a long time member of Carpenter’s Local 200 (an affiliate of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters). He was employed by Renier Construction for the past 10 years as a Senior Construction Superintendent. His passion for building contributed to the ever-changing landscape of Columbus, Ohio and throughout the U.S. Tom loved to sing and play guitar, especially Country music. He loved OSU Football, playing golf, fishing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Tom is survived by his cherished wife, Lori K. Rose; daughters, Regina (Bill) Walden and Rhonda (Rick) Vaughn; stepdaughter, Katherine (Spencer) Young; stepsons Austin (Annie) Stinnette and Sam Huntzinger; grandchildren Justin (Cindi) Walden, Kyle (Chelsey) Walden, Logan Walden, Autumn Walden, Reagan Vaughn and Ryan Vaughn; great grandchildren Carter, McKinley, Charli, Crimson and Patrick; sister Denise McGoldrick (Michael Smiley); brother and sister-in-law William (Victoria) Rose; Aunt Mary Sue and Uncle Jack Johnson, his beloved Uncle Charles “Chuck” Rose; nieces; great nieces and nephews; cousins; and many more that loved him.
Tom’s family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg where his memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
