V. Lee Chenea, born April 7, 1934 and passed away May 23, 2024 at the age of 90. Lee was born in Los Angeles, CA. He remained in California until he was 17, when he would proudly say he “quituated” high school, and joined the U.S. Air Force on October 5, 1951. He was transferred to Ohio at Lockbourne A.F Base in November, where he would meet his soon to be wife Evelyn, on a blind date. They met February 5, and got married three months later on May 17, 1952. Shortly after they were married, he was shipped over to Korea, which he served a year and a half of his 4 year tenure. After being honorably discharged, he got a job at a long gone printing company, and learned everything he could, with the hopes of having his own business.
Together, he and Evelyn, made that a reality, and started Eveco Press, our family business. They raised two children, built a house, and always found time for family, no matter how hectic things were at any time. After 40 plus successful years, they retired in 1999. They stayed active, and worked driving and delivering anything that would fit in their van, from here in the city, to all of the surrounding states and beyond.
Lee loved and enjoyed his family, first and foremost, mowing and taking care of their pristine lawn, singing karaoke, Miller High Life beer, and life. Not to bad for a high school dropout.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Russell J. and Blanche Chenea; two older brothers, Marvel and Marvin; and their dear loving son, David. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; daughter, Sue, and a host of extended family and friends.
Lee's family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH where his funeral service will be held at 10:30am with Pastor Bob Mathias officiating. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
