Victoria Rae (Worley) Underwood

Victoria Rae (Worley) Underwood, 80, of Baltimore, Ohio, peacefully entered her eternal rest on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, Victoria was the daughter of the late Otis B. and Hazel Worley. She grew up in Princeton and attended Fletcher Academy, carrying throughout her life the values of faith, compassion, and service to others.

Victoria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl E. Underwood Jr.; her parents, Otis B. and Hazel Worley; and her brother, Rodney Worley.

She is survived by her children, Carl Underwood III (Barbara), Elizabeth Grace (Shawn), Shannon Underwood (Hollyn), and David Underwood (Michel); her grandchildren, Gavin(Jenn), Carl IV, Laurén(Ben), Aleah(Anthony), Shawn Jr., Corey A.(Carrie), Devon(Caitlin), Michael, and Lily; her great-grandchildren, Angel, Brenden, Ethan, Carson, Reagan, Evie, Liam, Ava, Riley, Reagan, and Airis; and her brother, Richard Worley(Carmen) her sister-in-law, Lori Worley. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members, dear friends, and members of her church family who will miss her deeply.

Victoria dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a Nurse's Aide and Phlebotomist at Mount Carmel East Hospital, where her compassion and kindness touched countless lives. Caring for others was not simply her profession—it was her calling. Her gentle spirit often shone through in small but meaningful ways, including singing hymns to patients to bring them comfort, peace, and encouragement during difficult moments. Those acts of kindness reflected the faith and love that guided her throughout her life.

A devoted member of Reynoldsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, Victoria's relationship with God was the cornerstone of her life. Her faith was evident not only in worship but in the way she treated others—with grace, patience, and an unwavering willingness to help those in need.

Victoria was a loving, nurturing, and kind woman whose greatest joy was her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than gathering loved ones around the table, sharing a home-cooked meal, and finding thoughtful ways to make others feel special. She delighted in giving gifts, preparing meals, and making sure those around her felt welcomed, cared for, and loved.

Victoria also found great happiness in tending her vegetable garden. Each year, she lovingly cultivated a bountiful harvest, taking particular pride in her tomatoes. She delighted in sharing the fruits of her labor with family, friends, and neighbors, often ensuring that no one left her home empty-handed. Her garden was more than a hobby—it was an extension of her nurturing spirit, reflecting her joy in caring for others and bringing people together through simple acts of generosity. Like the seeds she planted and faithfully tended, Victoria cultivated love, kindness, and faith in the lives of those around her, leaving a legacy that will continue to grow for generations.

Though her family mourns her passing, they take comfort in the memories she created, the faith she lived, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion will continue through the lives of those she touched.

Family and friends may call at Cotner Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., with burial to follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Fair Hope Hospice and Palliative Care and for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided to Victoria and her family during her final days. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication brought peace and dignity during a difficult time and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation. 

The family would especially like to thank Victoria's hospice nurses, Naomi, Jen and Crystal, whose extraordinary compassion, kindness, and dedication brought comfort and reassurance during a difficult journey. Their gentle care and unwavering support provided peace not only to Victoria but also to her family, and her kindness will always be remembered with deep gratitude.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Robin Turner for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to spend time with Victoria during her final days. Her comforting presence and support brought peace to both Victoria and her family and will always be remembered with sincere gratitude.
