Warren Calvin Altizer, 96, formerly of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on September 23, 2022 at Fox Run Senior Living in Fairborn, Ohio. Born in Bear Wallow (Tazewell), Virginia on August 19, 1926 to Louie and Carrie (Beavers) Altizer. Warren was honored to have served his country as an Army veteran. He retired from AT&T/Lucent. He loved hunting, gardening, and canning his popular pickles, pickled beets and strawberry jam, which he loved to share with others. Warren had been an active member of East Livingston Baptist Church for many years. Warren is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary; daughter, Lynn; grandson, Denim; sisters Lucille Kauffman and Betty Mossholder; brothers Louie Jr., John "Jay", Rex, Dewey and Norm.
Warren is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Peg" (Heskett) Altizer, son, Lowell (Joanne), son in law John McCarthy, granddaughters, Tevis (Chad) Keaton, Jade (Ric), Kelly McKnight (Jason), great-grandchildren Mason Altizer, Gracie Keaton, Madison Blizzard, Sophia McKnight and Riley McKnight, sister Mary Stiffler (Jim) and sisters-in-law Susie Altizer, Judy Altizer and many special nieces and nephews and had a close relationship with nephew, Jim Hess (Chris).
Warren enjoyed time with family and friends and always warmly welcomed visitors into their home.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 2-3 pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where his funeral service will be held at 3 pm. US Army military honors to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Day City Hospice, Dayton, Ohio
