William C. "Cliff" York, Sr.

William C. "Cliff" York, Sr., 76, of Ashville, and formerly of Reynoldsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.  He was born in Lovely, Kentucky on January 6, 1947 to Alvis and Sylvia (Davis) York. He graduated from Warfield High School, and married his first wife, Bonnie (Messer) York in July 1966 until her death in 2004. While honorably serving in the US Air Force, he was stationed in Thailand. He worked for Lucent AEP before retiring and owning a business with his son Bill. He was a member of Gahanna Free Will Baptist Church where he met and married his wife of 18 years, Cathy (Elam) York. Cliff was loved by his family and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Bonnie York; son William “Bill” York, Jr; sister Karen Muncy; and step-daughter Angela Farley. Cliff is survived by loving wife Catherine “Cathy” York; daughter Tammie (James) Bailey; son-in-law Bill Farley; siblings Linda Coddington, Alvis (Doris) York Jr, and Gary (Jenny) York; grandchildren Bethany Bailey, Joe Bailey, Alyssa (Chris) Vance, Kayla (Gage) Browning, and Thomas Farley; great-grandchildren Bailynn, Sawyer, and Jaxson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, from 12-1pm at Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church, 3868 North Stygler Road, Columbus, Ohio, where his funeral service will be at 1pm with Pastors Edwin Hayes and Curtis Booth officiating. Graveside service to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
