Beatrice De Silva, a Bermudian native, died unexpectedly on November 11, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio, while visiting family. She was 76 years old.
She is predeceased by her husband, Frank De Silva of Bermuda.
Bea was born August 25, 1943 to Antonio and Mary Rebello of Bermuda. She married Richard Whitehouse of Ohio, who predeceased her, and settled in the Columbus area. Subsequently, she married Carl Rizor of Ohio, who remains a friend and survives her.
Bea was a loving mother, grandmother (Vava), and great-grandmother (Bisa Va). Her three surviving children are Richard Whitehouse and his wife Pam, Deborah Buckley and her husband Bob, Daron Whitehouse and wife Heidi; Her step-children in Bermuda include Frank DeSilva Jr., Anthony DeSilva, Judy DeSilva, and Richard (Sam) DeSilva; Her grandchildren are as follows: Tygre Morehart, spouse Mark Hamilton; Jenna Shanks, spouse Justin Shanks; Joshua Morehart, spouse Leah; Jared Moen; Travis Moen; Nathan Whitehouse; Justin Whitehouse; Aaron Whitehouse; Bea’s step-grandchildren of Bermuda are Jordan, Tyler, Mercedes, Nilah DeSilva, and Jennifer Souza; Great-grandchildren are Johnathon and Lana Morehart, Jagger and Jeremiah Shanks; brother, Phillip, and wife Mary Rebello in Canada. Neices Krista and Dana Rebello and Tonya Pelletier, spouse Dennis.
Bea’s family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio where a memorial service will be held for her at 1:30 p.m. A second service will be held in Bermuda at a later date.
